Fantastic food! It was one of the best burgers I've ever had! The cheese for the fried is phenomenal! It is very inviting. I love the decor extremely clean! We were going to order take out but the atmosphere called us to eat in! The staff are very friendly & the service was super fast! I mean, 5 minutes tops and the food was HOT HOT HOT

Portillo's has quickly become one of my favorite spots in town to go when I'm wanting a good, hearty sandwich. Whether it's one of their delicious Italian beefs, a chicken sandwich, or even a burger, everything here is top quality, from the ingredients, to the service. The price is also great too. At Tradewinds, for the same price (7), you're getting a frozen patty whereas Portillo's is a bigger, fresh patty. The restaurant can be a little noisy at times, but as long as you're okay with that, the atmosphere is great. Tons of old memorabilia all over the walls from South Bend, Mishawaka, Notre Dame, and Chicago (home of Portillo's). I'm still having a blast exploring the menu and all the delicious food, and I think you will too. If you haven't tried it, give Portillo's a go. Highly recommended!

My first time eating here best experience! The staff were top notch, friendly, helpful and very efficient!! Food was excellent! Definitely will return. Atmosphere was great too. Very clean also!

I have heard about this brand and thought it may just be hype. Nope. It's the real deal. Great looking building. Good food. Nice staff. Really enjoy the Italian Beef. Chocolate Cake. Who does that. Well almost everyone. A whole piece of cake blended in a milkshake. Yummy. Great experience and will be back.

Not really my type of hotdog, being the Chicago style. If you like the Chicago style though, I'm sure your going to be exceedingly happy, because their food is fantastic, the service is great, and if your eating inside the interior is jaw dropping and comfortable. Wait... if I don't like their dogs, what do I get? I'm more of the coney dog type person, so when I go here I'm all about their hamburgers and onion rings, which are superb! The onion rings are mind blowing! Just the right size, and crispy instead of squishy and flaccid, like most places. The seating is not only comfortable but spacious and private. The lighting level is not done like they feel the need to spotlight everyone inside and is instead comfortable and cozy, allowing you and your guests to enjoy a quiet dinner while still being in a restaurant with other people, so that the level of social interaction you have is a choice rather then something being forced on you. They also serve beer and have really great chocolate cake!

We got here at 630 and ordered and got our food and back on the road by 640. We thought since there was a line waiting for food it was gonna be awhile, but nope. I wish all fast food was this quick!!!!

A must if you are coming into South bend area. The cake shake is superb such a guilty pleasure. I highly recommend this spot. Its only a few minutes off the turnpike.
